How unwavering faith paired with focused action helps believers see the supernatural in everyday life

Welcome to another episode of the Health for the Spirit, Soul, and Body Blog from Doxa Missions. Today, we're looking at how faith and intentional steps work together to open the door to God’s miraculous power in our everyday lives. By the end of this post, you’ll understand how to apply the miracle formula—unwavering faith + focused action—so you can cooperate with God in a deeper, more practical way.

Miracles Are Not Accidental

When we look through Scripture, one theme stands out again and again: God responds to faith that moves. Faith that stays internal, unexpressed, or passive rarely produces results. But faith that steps, speaks, reaches, pushes through, and refuses to quit—that’s where God’s power shows up.

A simple definition for today’s topic is this:

Miracle = Unwavering Faith + Focused, Persistent Action

That’s the miracle formula. And once you see it in Scripture… you’ll start noticing it everywhere.

Jesus Himself taught this principle:

Faith That Speaks and Does Not Doubt

Mark 11:23 (KJV)

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

Jesus didn’t just say “believe.” He said say. Speak. Move. Act. Align your faith with your steps.

Faith That Moves + Action That Aligns

The biblical pattern is clear: When faith takes a step, heaven responds. Let’s look at three powerful examples.

Jairus — Stubborn Hope in Crisis (Mark 5:21–43)

His Situation

Jairus was a respected synagogue leader with a dying daughter. But when Jesus arrived in town, Jairus didn’t hesitate—he shoved his way through a crowd just to reach Him.

His Action

He could have stayed dignified or silent… but he didn’t.

He publicly fell at Jesus’ feet and pleaded for help.

Even when others told him, “Your daughter is dead—don’t trouble the Master,” Jairus stayed with Jesus. He kept walking. He kept believing.

The Lesson

Faith that keeps moving—even when the news gets worse—creates room for the miraculous.

The Woman With the Issue of Blood — Quiet Courage (Mark 5:25–34)

Her Situation

Twelve long years of pain, humiliation, and isolation. She had spent everything she had trying to get well.

Her Action

She didn’t make a public scene.

She didn’t pray a loud prayer.

She simply believed:

“If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.”

She pushed through the crowd, reached out, and touched Jesus’ garment.

The Lesson

Quiet but determined action in faith draws power from Jesus. Her miracle came not from noise, but from movement.

The Centurion — Faith That Acts on the Word (Matthew 8:5–13)

His Situation

A Roman officer—an outsider—pleading for his servant’s healing.

His Action

He believed Jesus’ word carried all the authority necessary.

No touch required.

No visit to his home.

No physical sign.

Just the Word.

The Lesson

Faith that trusts the unseen Word produces visible results. This is where many of our breakthroughs begin.

The Core Principle: Faith Must Take a Step

James says it plainly:

Faith Without Works Is Dead

James 2:17–18 (KJV)

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”

In simple terms:

  • Faith is proven through action.

  • Faith is activated through action.

  • What you believe should shape what you do.

This is a foundational part of the miracle formula

The Danger of Wavering: Peter Walking on Water

Peter actually walked on water—something no human has done naturally before or since. And he kept walking as long as his focus stayed on Jesus. But when doubt slipped in, the miracle faltered.

Jesus’ gentle correction explains it:

Matthew 14:31 (KJV)

“O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

It wasn’t the storm that stopped Peter. It was the wavering.

Unwavering faith matters.

How Believers Can Apply the Miracle Formula Today

Here’s how you can start walking this out in your own life—spiritually, emotionally, financially, relationally, or physically.

1. Anchor Your Faith in Scripture

Let God’s Word reset your expectations. Faith grows when it hears truth.

2. Take a Physical, Measurable Step

This isn’t striving—it’s obedience. It’s sending the application. Making the phone call. Starting the project. Praying for someone. Reaching out. Doing something that aligns with what you believe.

3. Speak to the “Mountain”

This is where Jesus’ instruction from Mark 11:23 becomes real. Use your words to agree with God’s promises.

4. Persist Until the Breakthrough

In many Bible stories, the miracle didn’t happen instantly—it happened eventually, after someone kept pressing through obstacles with faith.

Persistence is part of the miracle formula.

Conclusion: God Honors Faith That Moves

The pattern is unmistakable:

Unwavering Faith + Focused, Persistent Action = Miraculous Breakthroughs

God loves to partner with believers who take Him at His Word and move forward even when everything around them says otherwise. Your step of faith—big or small—can be the very thing that invites the supernatural into your everyday life.

Before You Go…

What’s one area of your life where you sense God nudging you to take a step of unwavering faith this week?
