Welcome to another episode of the Health for the Spirit, Soul, and Body Blog from Doxa Missions. Today, we’re looking at the power of agreement and how it shapes our lives. Many of us have heard the phrase,
"If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 18:19, KJV)
But what happens when we take this principle further—when we come into agreement, not just with another person, but with the very Word of God?
When we believe and declare what God has said, we align ourselves with His truth. This agreement with God’s Word has the power to bring His promises into reality. No matter the circumstances, once we stand with God, we become the majority, and nothing can stop His will from being fulfilled in our lives.
The Biblical Principle of Agreement
Agreement is a foundational principle in Scripture. The Bible says,
"In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." (2 Corinthians 13:1, KJV)
This verse teaches us that truth is confirmed through agreement. While this often applies to human witnesses, the most powerful agreement happens when we come into alignment with God’s Word.
God’s Word is truth (John 17:17), and when we agree with it—by believing, speaking, and acting upon it—His promises manifest in our lives.
Agreeing with God's Word Brings His Promises to Pass
John 1:1,14 (KJV) says,
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us."
The Word of God is not just written text—it is living, powerful, and the very nature of God. When we find His promises in Scripture and believe them, we are coming into agreement with God Himself. This agreement activates the power of His Word, bringing His will to pass in our lives.
For example, if God's Word says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19, KJV), then when we stand in agreement with this promise, trusting God as our provider, we will see His provision manifest in our lives.
One with God Is a Majority
I remember seeing a quote as a child: “One with God is a majority.” This simple statement holds deep spiritual truth. It doesn’t matter how many people disagree with what God has said—if you stand in agreement with His Word, you are standing on the side of victory.
Consider Abraham. God promised him a son in his old age, and despite the impossibility of the situation, Abraham "staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:20, KJV). He chose to agree with God, and as a result, the promise was fulfilled.
Overturning Circumstances Through Agreement
Life often presents us with challenges that seem contrary to God’s promises. But when we align our faith with His Word, agreement overrides circumstances. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 (KJV),
"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."
If we believe and speak in agreement with God's Word, obstacles will move, and His promises will manifest.
The Power of Agreement in Salvation
One of the greatest demonstrations of the power of agreement is in salvation. The Bible clearly states that salvation is available to anyone who agrees with God’s Word concerning Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) declares:
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
This means that when a person agrees with God's Word—believing in Jesus Christ and confessing Him as Lord—salvation is established. No matter what anyone else thinks or says, no one can stop this reality from taking place in their life.
This is the essence of “One with God is a majority.” Even if the world doubts or opposes a person’s salvation, once they have agreed with God's Word, their eternal destiny is sealed.
Consider the thief on the cross (Luke 23:39-43). Though others mocked Jesus, this man recognized who Jesus was and aligned himself with the truth, saying,
"Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom." (Luke 23:42, KJV)
Jesus responded,
"Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43, KJV)
Despite his past and the circumstances surrounding him, his agreement with Jesus secured his salvation.
Conclusion
Agreement is a powerful force, and the most life-changing agreement we can make is with God and His Word. When we stand in faith, aligning our beliefs and declarations with His promises, we step into the reality of His will.
What are you agreeing with today? Are you standing on the Word of God, believing that His promises will come to pass? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences—share in the comments below!
